
Vince Contorno of Annapolis, California was
selected to receive the Mort Schwartz Award, which is the highest award
granted and is named after the scholarship program's founder and former
CAWA Chair of the Board, Mort Schwartz. Mr. Contorno is attending
Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento.
"CAWA continues to improve our scholarship program, and
the 2010 awards total the largest amount of funds we've awarded in the
past 10 years," said Tim Gerrity of General Auto Parts and CAWA Chair of
the Board. "The recipients selected represent the record amount of
outstanding applications received this year. We are pleased to be
able to provide assistance to so many well-qualified and deserving
candidates in the states that CAWA represent, which are California,
Nevada, and Arizona." stated CAWA Scholarship Task Force Chair, Borise
Cota of Akebono.
