National Labor Relations Board Has Extended Your Deadline

New Law in California Prohibits Credit Checks on Applicants or Employees
AB 22 which went into effect January 1, 2012, prohibits employers and prospective employers, not including certain financial institutions, from obtaining and using consumer credit reports about applicants or employees. The provision does not apply to "managerial positions" defined as those who qualify for the executive exemption from overtime. There are also other limited exceptions.
What We Anticipate in the Arizona Legislative Session
Among the efforts to aid in the economic recovery in Arizona, and closing the state's revenue gap, we anticipate legislation to reduce licensing and permit related fees, regulatory reforms to expedite the permitting process and increased transparency in administrative rule making within county and municipal governments. We will be monitoring this potential reduction of fees, processes and regulations during the year.  For more information, contact our Arizona based legislative advocate, Stuart Goodman (email) or 602.277.0911.
NEW MONEY SAVING PROGRAM.... Not one to pass up
CAWA is now partnered with Qualified Processing Services (QPS), to bring you, our member, a new credit card processing program to save you money.  During our search, several members allowed us to compare their current program to the one offered by QPS; the result.... the QPS program would save those members thousands of dollars!  We encourage you to take a look and allow QPS to do a FREE comparison for you.  Click here to learn more about QPS and to take advantage of their amazing introductory offer.  Questions?
