ENSURE SAFE BRAKES, QUALITY PARTS AND SATISFIED CUSTOMERS
Help Defeat SB 346 (Kehoe)
Attention Manufacturers, Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers, Shop Owners & Technicians
SB 346 by Senator Christine Kehoe aims to reduce the amount of copper used in brake pads so that there is less copper dust runoff into urban streams and water bodies. The industry supports that goal, but the bill ignores the fact that it will take time to create copper free brake pads that are safe and ensure customer satisfaction for all the vehicles on California' s roads.
We want AND need our brakes to work correctly every time - all the time!
We all will be affected.
WE NEED YOUR IMMEDIATE HELP AND ACTION TODAY!
Please write, fax, phone or email your Assembly Member today asking that they oppose SB 346 (Kehoe).
A list of targeted legislators is below and a sample letter is attached (Word format). Please use the attached message to reach out to these legislators letting them know that SB 346 poses a safety risk to all Californians on our roads - after all, we're talking about the most fundamental safety component in a vehicle.
As SB 346 is currently written, it does not provide the necessary flexibility to ensure that safe, commercially viable alternatives will be found for every single make, model and class of vehicle on our roads.
If you have a business or live in one of the districts/cities/areas listed here, please take action IMMEDIATELY by contacting your legislator and urging they vote NO on SB 346.
Thank you for your prompt action. Your actions go a long way toward helping the industry fight this ill-conceived legislation.
